One man. Four chairs. Unlimited characters. LimboLand is a one man tour-de-force. Veteran actor/improvisor T.J. Mannix plays every role in a completely improvised, music-fueled show. LimboLand has wowed audiences from Paris to Chicago, Oslo to Vancouver, NYC to San Francisco. Whether duetting with himself or playing eight family members at the same time, T.J. mines the humor, passion,and dark sides that make us irresistible. At the mercy of Music Director James Rushin, any character can be forced to skillfully break into song. |
About the Group
LimboLand began with a bet and a threat. When T.J. Mannix was challenged to create a one man show for the inaugural Chicago Musical Improv Festival, LimboLand was born. T.J. Mannix is a 20 year improv veteran, trained with Amy Poehler, Matt Walsh, Ian Roberts, and Armando Diaz. Original cast of BLANK: the Musical Off-Broadway. Second City-NCL, on one of the first Harold and House teams at the UCB-NY and Magnet Theater. T.J. is the Founder/Artistic Director of the 11th annual New York Musical Improv Festival, and Faculty at the Professional Conservatory of Musical Theater in NYC. Over the past five years, LimboLand has headlined festivals in Paris, Oslo, Vancouver, San Francisco, Chicago, NYC, Pittsburgh, San Diego, Tampa, Omaha, Providence, Kansas City, San Jose, Palm Beach, Hartford, Richmond, Oklahoma City, and more. T.J. recently scored the Law and Order trifecta, playing everything from an evil minister to a gay kidnapper. He has appeared in over 80 commercials along with Law and Order: SVU, Law and Order, L&O Criminal Intent, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, As the World Turns, All My Children, and One Life to Live. T.J. is a popular coach/director in NYC and is know for his sold out Commercial Auditioning classes for improvisors. |
