The Amie & Kristen Show/The Kristen & Amie Show   •   Portland, OR and New York, NY

Amie and Kristen generate a girly, risky, playful, fully improvised show by morphing the sound and physicality of one scene into the next. The use of these organic transitions results in fluid and fast paced show that never stops!

BASSPROV   •   Chicago

Donny and Earl sit in a 'boat' on stage, are fishing, drinking beer, and improvising stories based on several audience suggestions. They set up the audience with "good old boy" characters and then blow them away with intelligent debate, and often poignant insight into life in modern times.

Leela is a holistic improvisational theatre company and training center that strives to continue the great San Francisco improv legacy begun by Del Close and The Committee. Inspired by the ancient Sanskrit word, Leela was founded to create, support, and produce new original works while encompassing the art of improvisation. Every work created is based around Leela’s powerful mission of truthful, artistic play. Truthful: exploring the authentic truths of the artists involved on stage, Artistic: transforming these truths into compelling and accessible works of art, and Play: infusing the joy of childlike play into the process of the creation of these works.

The Before Times   •   San Francisco (Leela)

Remember the day the world turned 2000? We entered the "aughts." Before smart phones, social media, the beginnings of the internet. Who were we? How did we define ourselves as a culture, as a people? We follow the day in the life of a young person coming of age in the year 2000 in "The Before Times.” Conceived and directed by Leela’s Co-Founder and Artistic Director, Jill Eickmann, "The Before Times" features a cast with representatives from all three of Leela’s current online PIE ensembles "Alley Oop", "Mind Craft", & "On The Verge.”   Our guest monologist for this year’s virtual SFIT show is international improv teacher/performer, Joe Bill.

Amalia and Alison have been performing together for 10 years. They met as members of the Dead Parrots Society improv club at Western Washington University, and have been dear friends ever since. They love long-form narratives, tricking people into crying at improv shows, long walks on the beach and off-dry reds.

   Book Club   •   Seattle

Somewhere in the nice part of town on a regular night, after their Barre classes and upscale juice crawls, only two women bothered to show up to their book club meeting. With little self-awareness, an entire bottle of wine, and an absolute lack of critical literary skills, these two must forge onward and hold their book club meeting anyway.

We are a Washington Improv Theater (WIT) team comprised of Erick Acuña, Neil Baron, Kristina Martinez, and Kelsey Peters (teachers and performers at WIT for the past five years). We formed in January of 2019 and won Washington Improv Theater's 2019 F.I.S.T. (Fighting Long-form Improv Smackdown Tournament). Besides performing every other week at WIT, we have performed in improv festivals (2019 Baltimore Improv Festival and 2019 Detroit Improv Festival). We'll also perform in 2020 SteelStacks and Alaska Improv Festival. Regarding diversity, we have two latinx members and two female identifying members. We hope to achieve some truth on stage.

The Broken Bones   •   Washington D.C. (Washington Improv Theater)

We turn injury into comedy! The Broken Bones would love to hear about how you got that gnarly scar. They will then create a world where no one is safe and everyone is in stitches.

The Future is a production of Philly Improv Theater.

The Future   •   Philadelphia

The Future has been doing whatever it takes to make audiences laugh since 2013. Give them a suggestion and watch as it gets turned into a recreation of the past, a twisted sci-fi dystopia, or possibly a feat of physical strength. Comprised of some of Philadelphia’s top performers, The Future has built a reputation domestically and abroad as a group of weirdos who create comedy that is always more than the sum of their parts.

Liss n' Sams   •   San Francisco (Moment Improv Theatre)

Liss n’ Sams takes the word of the day as a suggestion from the audience. From that word, they create a starter scene and before you know it you are smack in the middle of a fast paced show that does not end till the lights come down. Their connection is electric and their transitions are seamless.

Joe and Marcus first performed together in a Leela show and they instantly felt the improv karma that transformed into Liss n’ Sams! Since then they have improvised all over the country. Joe is a Second City alumnus and has appeared on TV in Hidden America with Jonah Ray, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Strangers With Candy. Film roles include God Bless America, Wayne’s World II, Home Alone 2, and Major League. Among his writing credits are Third Rock From the Sun, SpongeBob Squarepants, and Drawn Together. Marcus is the artistic director of Moment Improv Theatre and the San Francisco Improv Festival, the co-founder of the Bay Area Film Mixer and a working actor. He has been in the improv game since 2001, has performed in 75+ national improv festival shows, and was a member of the critically-acclaimed group, Oui Be Negroes.

“Liss n’ Sams made me laugh… and I don’t laugh at improv anymore.”  –Ron West (Whose Line Is it Anyway)

Adam Gottfried, Laura Spencer, and Matt Jurasek are Seattle-based improvisers who discovered a shared love for The Twilight Zone after participating in an online jam together. Their mutual geekery combined with a desire to explore and expand the medium of tele-improv resulted in The Quarantine Zone. Musical improviser Jason DeLeo provides a live score.

The Quarantine Zone   •   Seattle

The Quarantine Zone is a parody of the classic television anthology The Twilight Zone. A made-up episode title from the audience is used to create an entire episode on the spot -- complete with far-out premises, foreboding monologues, and shocking twists! This show's unique use of audio/video technology brings the universe to life in ways that are only possible online.

Camilla Franklin is an illustrator, Alex Engelberg is a musician, and both of them are Seattle-based improvisers. Together, they create completely improvised animated shorts with original musical scoring based on live audience suggestions.

Storyboard Improv   •   Seattle

Storyboard Improv uses remote meeting technology to make wholesome art. If you've ever cried at a Pixar short and thought, "I'd like to see one of those but made by two people, on the spot, in real-time," you won't want to miss the unique, madcap stylings of Storyboard.
